Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has announced the completion of the Infectious Diseases Control Center situated in Lafia the  state capital.
The governor made the disclosure  while on an inspection tour of  the project recently.
He said that the project was started by the immediate past administration in the state and completed by his administration.
“We have completed the projects and the surrounding including landscaping, planting of flowers, except the construction of the road leading to the center,” the Governor said.
Governor Sule also explained that the project would soon be inaugurated to begin full operations.
Engineer Sule noted that the state government was partnering many organizations including Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) among others to utilize the center for the benefit of members of the public.
He pointed out that NCDC had promised to establish molecular laboratory for infectious diseases including Coronavirus, Lassa Fever and  Ebola among others.
According to the Governor, the center would also serve as a research center and
commended all the partners who contributed in one way or the other for the success of the project.
